The Montevideo Carnival is one of the oldest and most deeply rooted traditions in Uruguayan culture. For 40 nights, dozens of groups, divided into five categories (Murgas, Humorists, Parodists, Revues, and Comparsas of Black and Lubolo performers), parade through the city performing on stages called "tablados," while also participating in the Official Competition.

We'll meet you at the Port of Montevideo and begin our tour in Ciudad Vieja, visiting Plaza Constitución and the historic Montevideo Cathedral. We'll then drive to Plaza Independencia, where you'll learn about iconic landmarks such as Salvo Palace, Solís Theatre, the City Gate, and the Estevez Palace.

The tour continues along 18 de Julio and Libertador Avenues to the impressive Legislative Palace, where we'll stop for photos. Nearby, we'll visit the MAM market, part of Uruguay's historical heritage, offering local cuisine and regional products.

Next, we'll head to Batlle Park to see the Monumento a La Carreta, followed by a stop at the legendary Estadio Centenario, host of the first FIFA World Cup in 1930.
