The Burren is one of Ireland's most spectacular landscapes and the best way to explore it is by electric bike. Beat the hills and the headwinds, and pedal your way through this amazing region steeped in history on a self-guided tour; the electric bike will do most of the work while you enjoy spectacular views of the lunar landscape and the many historical sites; stop at Poulnabrone Dolmen, ancient ring forts and archaeological gems.

You have from 3 to 8 hours to complete the tour in your own time, depending on the time you start your tour. Latest return time is 5.30pm.

Self Guided Electric Bike Tour of Historical Sites in the Burren Co Clare

You will cycle out into the wild Burren on electric bikes, see historical locations such as 10th century ring forts and a tomb from 3500BC, and experience the amazing flora and landscape of this protected region. You will cycle on small back roads with little or no traffic, seeing the parts of the Burren most visitors never see. We will stop for lunch or coffee, or simply chat to the local people, and of course, get plenty of fresh air. You will bike as much or as little as you wish, and if the weather is really bad, there is always a Plan B!

Exclusive short film by naturalist, Éamon de Buitléar, splendidly presents the Burren Landscape while Digital Story Trails are available via QR code. Headphones must be worn - not provided.

The Burren Visitor Centre is a not-for-profit enterprise run by the community & is the licensed information point for North Clare offering bespoke advice on what to see, where to go, as well as directions, maps & discount vouchers.

The Burren Visitor Centre is a not-for-profit community cooperative which has been run and managed by the people of the Burren for the last 50 years. 

This Experience:
A Premium Guided Village Tour of Kilfenora, City of Crosses, and its ancient history, including a tour of Kilfenora Cathedral, St Fachnan's Church, the High Crosses, and other notable sites of interest.
